The Mountain Goats - The Coroner's Gambit

The Coroner's Gambit is an album by The Mountain Goats. It is mostly John Darnielle and his acoustic guitar, but it has sparse auxiliary instrumentation as well. Most of the songs were recorded on John's Panasonic RX-FT500 boom box, but due to either mechanical failure or desire for clearer sound quality, he used a 4-track recording machine for some tracks.

Wolf Parade - At Mt. Zoomer

What better way to start off this blog than the CD that inspired the name. Wolf Parade are back with their second album, following the amazing Apologies To The Queen Mary.Keyboardist Spencer Krug and Rock Star Dan Boeckner each have four tracks each, while coming together for the closing track, "Kissing the Beehive". Although the CD only has nine tracks, they are all fantastic. Any fan of Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown, or Handsome Furs should be sure to check this one out. They also put on an amazing show live, if any of you have the chance to go see them.
